A
security personnel was honored today for showing exemplary honesty, when he
returned P43,000 worth of cash and other valuables to a Chinese national.
SG Domingo Pulod found a black wallet containing ATMs and blank checks
with owner’s signature while doing security rounds at the malls’ parking lot
area. Pulod immediately reported the recovered valuables to the mall’s Customer
Relations Office.
Later, the purse was
returned to the owner, Ms. Lucy Anne Cua Go.
The 35-year-old Chinese national was very grateful to have the money returned.
She recognized Pulod’s remarkable honesty and praised him for
not being tempted to take the wallet himself.
Pulod said he was not disappointed that he
could not keep the money, even though his family is in debt. He was happy
to be able to do a good deed. It would have been wrong to keep the money that
did not belong to him.
“I can never take another person’s money
because for me honesty is still the best policy.” Pulod added.
