Love at first click

"The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and had it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it move again, since is it life "

reflets de moi-même
While going through my archives in the past couple of days, I have noticed that one of my passions is taking pictures. Whether using a point and shoot camera, SLR, DLSR or just the mere camera from my cellphone, photography is a way of expression when words fail me. Something I absolutely love about taking photos is the way it alters life. The process itself gives me serenity, a chance to clear my mind and a sense of perspective.

My Reflection
A vivid memory of the day I got hooked in photography plays in my head from time to time. Going back to how I felt at that moment to how far I have come in my life since that memory was pretty amazing. I am grateful that I made it this far and how my life continues to unfold before my eyes. There is an inherent stillness in capturing photos and an unspeakable joy looking at it. That very moment you captured in a creative fraction of second creates a hundred of stories. It is like recording a gamut of feelings and finding something interesting and special in ordinary things, places and people.

Stop. Look. Listen
I did exactly what the sign says and captured the moment.
Peace, hope and joy permeated my thoughts whenever I take photos.

Indeed, it is love at first click! ♥

SM CITY MARILAO LAUNCH TWO OF BULACAN’S BIGGEST FESTIVALS

SM City Marilao recently launched two of the biggest and most colorful festivities in Bulacan. Throngs of spectators packed and lined up at the event center of SM Marilao to witness the live street dance, unique performances, and grand procession of folk and antique statues of the Holy Child Jesus.

The Halaman Festival that had drawn huge turnout of locals as well as hundreds of visitors from nearby towns exemplifies Guiguinteños’ ingenuity in the art of gardening, landscaping, seedling propagation and plant growing. Floral arrangements of all shapes, sizes and colors filled the eight-day festival simulating their own version of the Garden of Eden along with the live performances of the winners of Indakan sa Kalye.
Apart from the loud band marching and dancers clad in colorful costumes, advocacies for the environment were likewise presented to encourage observers to become doers. “It is our hope that participants of this festival will help usher in a renewed interest our rich cultural heritage as well as in green acts” said SM Regional Operations Manager Emmanuel Navera.

A display of color was seen at the kick off parade of the Halamanan Festival

Capping off the month of festivity was the inherent part of the Filipino Celebration, the Sto. Niño Festival. In partnership with the Department of Education, devotees from Bulacan pay homage to the Holy Child Jesus by participating in the grand procession and ceremonial parade at the mall.  A visual exhibition followed that showed the Holy Child in various manifestations with images ranging from the Child Jesus as a shepherd boy to a holy child who grants healing and bountiful blessings.

Finding inspiration from a simple Mc Donalds Ad

Inspiration can come from anywhere. Perfect example is Mc Donald's Hooray for today ad. The Ad is quite simple but it brought me hundred of reasons to smile every morning.

The ad is a very good mood booster for working people like me (If I may say it also has a very good recall factor, got LSS though). It reminded me to let go of all the pointless drama and the people who create it (I call them DOA or Designated Office Assholes and AA, Artista Academy) and surround yourself with people who make you laugh and inspire you to do well.

Time flies so fast (just to remind you.. we are on the 4th week of the year), so better  move forward and focus on what is really important. While drinking my energy booster coffee from Mc Donalds, I am redefining my day by saying it out loud: "Today, I will do my best and work on my goals- HOORAY FOR TODAY!"

Where do you get your inspiration? Share your thoughts.
XOXO Giadre
